STONESHIELD MARBLE, GRANITE &·TRAVERTINE SEALER is a premium quality solvent -based penetrating, no-sheen, no surface film, natural look, water and oil repellent for maximum stain protection.
· Can be used as a pre-grouting sealer on clean surfaces at least 6 hours before grouting.
· Allows water vapor transmission.
· For interior and exterior use.
Uses:
· Suitable on low porosity tiles including polished, honed, tumbled and natural marble, travertine, granite, limestone and other natural stone.
Coverage:
Approx. 20 m2 per litre per coat depending on porosity, surface texture, temperature and method of application. On polished surfaces only 1 coat may be required. On natural, tumbled, honed and flamed surfaces a minimum of 2 coats will be required.
Expected wear:
Will vary depending texture, hardness of surface, area, traffic, maintenance and use of aggressive cleaners. Expected wear - up to 15 years.
Method of application:
Test on a small area first, to ensure suitability and desired result. Surface must be clean, dry and free of sealers, waxes and grout residue. Apply one even liberal coat of STONESHIELD MARBLE, GRANITE & TRAVERTINE SEALER using a lambswool applicator, lint-free cloth or paintbrush. Do not allow pooling or bubbles to form. If product is completely absorbed within 5 minutes, then wait 30 minutes and apply second coat. If product is not completely absorbed within 5 minutes, wait 30 minutes and wipe off all excess product with an absorbent cotton cloth. A third coat may be required, if the tile is more porous.
Cure times:
Allow 30 minutes between coats. Foot traffic after 4 hours. Do not apply externally if rain is expected within 12 hours. Full cure in 24 hours.
Test:
After 2 hours apply water droplets to 1 tile, if water is absorbed, apply additional coats.
Maintenance:
Only use STONESHIELD DAILY-CLEAN to prolong life of sealer. Re-apply STONESHIELD MARBLE, GRANITE & TRAVERTINE SEALER if surfaces become difficult to clean or staining occurs.
Limitations:
Do not apply to damp tiles. Allow 48 hours after laying with quality tile adhesive before sealing. Do not wet tiles for at least 24 hours after sealing. STONESHIELD MARBLE, GRANITE AND TRAVERTINE SEALER will not prevent surface wear or etching from strong acids.
To maintain the gloss of polished marble and travertine, use STONESHIELD MARBLE CRYSTALISER. Store and use between 4° C and 32° C only.
Precautions:
Ensure good ventilation and avoid breathing vapours. Avoid skin and eye contact. Wear goggles, gloves and suitable protective clothing when necessary. Keep out of reach of children and pets and store away from other chemicals. Do not allow contact with other sensitive surfaces. Flammable.
