We have improved the formulation of our Stoneshield Sandstone Sealer to make it even better for you. The application is different to the original Stoneshield Sandstone Sealer.  Please read the label carefully before you apply your sealer.

STONESHIELD SANDSTONE SEALER is a·  superior quality natural look, non-yellowing water-based resin sealer that provides a protective surface sheen, good stain resistance and ease of cleaning.

· Suitable on natural, tumbled, and honed sandstone, limestone and similar natural stone.

Coverage:

Approximately 10 - 15 m² per litre per coat depending on porosity, surface texture, temperature and method of application.  The number of coats required is dependent on porosity.

Expected wear:

Will vary depending on texture, hardness of surface, area, traffic, maintenance, weather and use of aggressive cleaners.  Expected wear - up to 5 years.

Method of application:

Allow tile to dry for 6 hours after washing, prior to sealing. Test on a small area first to ensure suitability and desired result.  Surface must be clean, dry and free of sealers, waxes and grout residue.  Apply a saturating first coat of sealer, in one direction, using a lambswool applicator, clean mop or sponge only. Do not allow pooling or bubbles to form.  Apply the second coat of sealer immediately after the surface is touch-dry.

Cure times:

Curing time between coats is not recommended. Subsequent coats of sealer must be applied as soon as the surface is touch-dry.  The sealer will repel itself after as little as 1 hour after drying.  Foot traffic after 4 hours. Do not apply externally if rain is expected within 6 hours.  Full cure in 48 hours.

Test:

A uniform satin sheen is required to achieve the desired results.  Additional coats will result in a higher gloss finish.  The system should be applied "wet on wet."

Maintenance:

Only use STONESHIELD DAILY-CLEAN^® to prolong the life of the sealer.  Re-apply STONESHIELD SANDSTONE-SEALER if signs of wear occur. 

Limitations:

Do not apply to damp tiles as this will retard absorption of the sealer.  Do not apply to hot tiles.  Allow 7 days after laying with quality tile adhesive before sealing.  Do not wet tiles for at least 24 hours after sealing.  Store and use between 16° C and 32° C only.

Precautions:

Ensure good ventilation and avoid breathing vapours.  Avoid skin and eye contact.  Wear goggles, gloves and suitable protective clothing when necessary.  Keep out of reach of children and pets and store away from other chemicals. Do not allow contact with other sensitive surfaces.
